On October 15, Hao Tian, Regional Director (Industry) at the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Beijing and Greater China Director at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), visited WABO for an exchange with the team.
The visit was intended to learn about WABO’s international development plans and explore Singapore’s potential as a base for overseas expansion. Earlier discussions had also identified two-way technology connections, joint research and opportunities within Singapore’s innovation ecosystem as areas of interest.
Connecting Chengdu with Singapore’s innovation ecosystem
WABO is based at the Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park in Chengdu and received support from the park and Sino-Singapore company during its early development. The park was developed jointly by Sichuan and Singapore; WABO carries out technology research and product exploration there.
One of WABO’s investors, Vertex Ventures, is based in Singapore, backed by Temasek Holdings, and has independently operated fund teams in multiple markets. The park and this investment provide existing connections between WABO’s development and Singapore’s innovation network.
WABO’s offline brain-control experience space at Xinchuan Zhixin (新川之心) is under construction. Information about product experiences and opening arrangements will be announced later.
Preparing for international development
WABO is developing neural sensing devices, an intent model and system interfaces together for embodied intelligence and next-generation human–computer interaction. The company is also advancing work related to outbound direct investment (ODI) as part of its overseas plans.
In January 2027, WABO plans to exhibit its products at CES 2027 in Las Vegas. Details of the products and arrangements will be announced later.
